7.31.2021 Fishing With CCYS

The rain held off for fishing and the cookout. Even though we didn’t catch any fish, the kids still really enjoyed being out of the shelter and TRYING to catch fish. So glad to see them baiting their own hook. We grilled burgers and hot dogs. WHO doesn’t like good grilled food, right?!

4.3.2021 Hiking

Just completed a 3-mile hike around Mt. St. Francis lake with the kids from CCYS. What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Seen a few wildflowers and the trees were just starting to bud. The kids had a great time! Looking forward to our next adventure with them.

4.1.2021 COVID-19 UPDATE

2020! What a year it has been. Now that the vaccine is here and the numbers are starting to go down everywhere, Compass Adventures is ready to get back to serving and mentoring the kids in our community. We have had a long break which has been good at times. Some of that time has been used to get ourselves grounded in his word and focused on our families. God is good and He has a new season in store for all of the kids He will bring into our care. Prayers for his will to be done.

11.11.19 Explorers Club.

Today we did thank you cards with a twist. Because Thanksgiving is just around the corner, we thought it would be a good idea to make thankful cards for those that the kids were most thankful/grateful for. The Twist…The kids were able to decorate the front of their cards with things from nature. Leaves, acorns, berries, small twigs, and other nature items brought all the colors of Fall together.

10.28.19 Explorers Club.

Our first club meeting went well. We built a bonfire and made s’mores. The kids were able to explore some of the gear we brought. Tents, hammocks, hiking backpacks, fishing poles, etc. The kids were rather rowdy after all the sugar.

10.24.19 Clark County Youth Shelter Monthly Board Game Night.

What a great night of gaming with the kids. Gaming, old school!

8.29.19

Starting an Explorers club at S. Ellen Jones school this fall. Can’t wait to see what God is doing! Stay tuned.

7.20.19 Fishing and lunch with Clark County Youth Shelter.

What a great day on the banks of the lake at the Pepper Upper Club. It was hot, but we did manage to catch a few fish. The kids really had a good time and yes, the girls did catch more fish than the boys.
